MWIZI SACCO LTD started in 2000 in as a registered savings and credit cooperative society ltd under REG.NO.6447 by a group of 300 farmers of Kabura T/C, Mwizi SubCounty in Mbarara district western Uganda with a vision of “becoming the leading microfinance institution in Uganda” and currently with 15,408 members with in Rwampara, Mbarara city, Mbarara, Ntungamo,Isingiro,and the surrounding areas.

Mwizi Sacco’s mission is “to provide high quality sustainable financial and business development services to the economically poor for improved livelihood” by supporting farmers, entrepreneurs and institutions to increase productivity via providing affordable and timely services.
Over the period it has become one of the leading financial players in the area of operation with a wide expansion in thebranch network of 6 branches i.e. Mwizi branch (head offce) situated in kabura town council Rwampara district, Bugamba  branch in Byanamira- Bugamba Rwampara District, Isingiro Branch in Kabingo- Isingiro District, Rwoho branch in Rwoho Town Council- Ntungamo District and Mbarara branch at Markhanising Street – Mbarara city.

Mwizi Sacco attributes its growth to good practice in microfinance clinging to its core values, research, technology, good leadership, use of laws, policies and regulations and good customer care and having development partners like UCUSCU, aBi,MBADIFA,TRIAS,MFSCL, NAADS via food and financial support.

Mwizi Sacco is proud of AMFIU through enhancement of their services ranging from capacity building for both staff and board and WASH loan products to our members that have helped the Sacco work on public relations that has attracted different financial players like ABI trust.
